In 2024 New Public curated Piccadilly Circus for the first time in 132 years. Working with renowned multi-disciplinary artist and designer Yinka Ilori MBE on a new public art commission, saw this bold, joyful project through from commission to final execution. Ilori, inspired by the symbolism and memory of the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, developed an uplifting installation incorporating two soaring Pegasus’ and a series of affirmations, empowering the visiting public to achieve their dreams. The project was featured and praised by media outlets such as the BBC News, ITV News, The Guardian, Financial Times, Independent, BBC Radio 6, Dezeen and Time Out.
